The inspiration for Baja stems from our love of travel and new experiences. While visiting
the coastal regions of Mexico with our families, we were drawn to the style and inviting atmospheres of small, locally owned restaurants. From then, we became dedicated to building a place that emanated the same energy. With a mission for “good vibes”, we wanted to offer a relaxed atmosphere and emphasize the importance of local ingredients and lively flavours.
Indulging in craftsmanship both behind the bar and in the kitchen, we wanted to create another must stop on Kingston’s celebrated food map. We believe Kingston’s collection of bars and restaurants are one big family – offering a huge community of talented chefs, bartenders, servers, farmers, and suppliers. With the culinary world’s transition to more conscious ingredients, we are careful to source materials that are not only sustainable – but also but tell a story. Working in the Kingston dining industry for many years, we are passionate about representing the Limestone City in new and exciting ways, while grounded in hometown values and traditions.
Our dining experience is unique to Baja but encourages the practice of sharing and grazing. Each dish comes to the table as they are ready and in no particular order– allowing you to try many different dishes and flavours.
Was really excited to go to this place! Great vibes with a delicious tapas menu! Really enjoyed the avocado fries. The staff was quite attentive and kind. The place was clean, I wish the patio opened a bit earlier.
Had the best night a few Fridays ago at baja! Food was amazing, great quality and great price. We had a lovely server who made the evening so fun and enjoyable! Thanks so much Claudia! We will be back so soon
Last evening I went to Baja for dinner, my first time there. I was very impressed with everything I had. The decor is lovely. We ordered several items and shared some. The presentation was excellent and the flavour of the food was spectacular. Everyone was so friendly. Chef Graham Quance and his team have a great menu and I highly recommend this restaurant. I will be recommending this restaurant to many people.
Great margarita choices (I had a coconut one), our server was very helpful with the menu since I don't eat meat. I had a cauliflower taco, mushroom taco, and shared the chips with guacamole and salsa Verde. The chips were unlike any I've had before.. very thick and crispy with an almost soft inside. So good , will be back!
